I'm trying to get my 5.1 surround sound system working on my racing setup. I recently installed a Sound Blaster X4 and connected it to my Logitech z906 speakers using the 3 colored 6-channel analog plugs. The Creative App and the Logitech built-in speaker test show that all five speakers work fine. However, when I go to Windows' speaker configuration, none of the speakers play sound. I've selected 5.1 surround in both the Creative App and in Windows. Though I can hear audio from the front speakers and subwoofer when playing Forza Horizon 5, I can't get any sound from the rear speakers. I've also tried playing a YouTube 5.1 test, but still no output from the rears.

Also, ensure you're running the latest drivers for your Sound Blaster. Sometimes an outdated driver can cause issues with multi-channel audio. After updating, go back and reconfigure your settings to see if that resolves the problem. Windows can be pretty picky about audio outputs.
It sounds like you're almost there! Make sure your z906 is connected properly—typically, you should have the green, black, and orange plugs wired according to the specific input on the sound card, and then double-check the windows settings. Sometimes, Windows defaults to your monitor for audio output instead of the sound card, so set your Sound Blaster as the default device in the audio settings. It’s a common issue! If you need examples, I can share some screenshots of my setup.
Thanks for the tips! I really appreciate the help.

Yeah, exactly! I've faced similar issues before. Just ensure you check those settings thoroughly and adjust them as described.
