I'm new to this whole domain controller upgrade process and could really use some advice from those with experience. I've got to upgrade a domain controller from 2016 to 2022 and I'm curious about the steps involved. Specifically, what should I do with the secondary domain controllers during this upgrade? Any tips or best practices would be greatly appreciated!

The process is pretty straightforward! First, install the new domain controller, then transfer the FSMO roles to it. Just make sure they are all synced up before you demote the old domain controller. It's important to check that your functional levels are at 2016 before proceeding with the install.

Thanks for the tip! I'm assuming I should do this during off-peak hours, right?
