I'm trying to figure out how to use my friend's Verbatim external slimline CD/DVD writer, but I'm struggling to find a simple, step-by-step guide. I also want to know if the videos I'm transferring need to be in a specific file format or if any type will work.

First, it really depends on what you want to do with the video. If your goal is to play it on a DVD player, you'll need the right software to create titles and menus, and the software will also convert your video files into a format that a DVD player can handle. If you're just transferring it to another computer, using a couple of thumb drives is way faster and easier. Just let me know what you aim to do, and I can suggest software accordingly!

I just want it to be able to play on a DVD player. I have the video in a few formats like MP4 and MOV, but I don't have any burning software. Do you have any recommendations? Are they free or do I need to pay?
