I have an HP EliteBook 840 G5, and it suddenly wouldn't power on while I was at school. Initially, the charging light was blinking white/light blue along with flickering lights on the caps lock and power buttons. Now, the charging light is flashing white/orange, but it still won't turn on. I've disconnected and reconnected both the normal and CMOS battery, swapped the RAM to the second slot, tried the Windows + B power method, and even held the power button for a full minute, but nothing seems to work.

It sounds like your laptop might need a BIOS recovery. Give this a shot: while the laptop is off, hold down the Windows key and the B key at the same time, then press the power button. Keep holding those keys until you see a BIOS recovery screen or hear beeps. If that doesn’t work, try doing the same thing with Windows + V instead. Also, check your power connection; do you know what your battery level was before this happened?
I totally understand how frustrating this can be! If you've already tried all those methods and it’s still unresponsive, it might be a hardware issue. Have you checked if your power adapter is working properly? Sometimes, it could be as simple as needing a new charger.
