I'm trying to install Davinci Resolve on my Ryzen 5 5500U laptop and Ryzen 5 3600 setup with an RX5700XT graphics card. I've tried multiple distros including CachyOS (my preferred one), Debian, and OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, but I haven't had any luck. I want to switch completely away from Microsoft, but every time I need to edit videos, I end up switching back. ROCm and OpenCL aren't working for me either, and I'm really unsure of what steps I might be missing. Can anyone provide some insights or steps I should follow?

From what I've read, using Davincibox is a great option for your setup. It simplifies the installation process and can get you running Davinci Resolve more easily compared to the traditional method.
Connecting via Ethernet during installation can help with any network-related issues. Also, make sure to check if you've removed the boot media once the installation is complete. Might seem basic, but it's easy to forget!
I totally get your frustration! Have you looked for any specific tutorials on installing Davinci Resolve for AMD GPUs? I've seen some detailed guides that might help you out.
