I'm new to Linux Mint and tried installing an available update to a newer 7.x release using a phone hotspot. The connection briefly dropped during installation, apparently interrupting the process. Now the update no longer appears, and every cold boot ends at a kernel panic screen. I have to restart the computer, open the manual boot options, and select the 6.4.x kernel I was already using in order to start normally. Is there a way to repair or finish the interrupted update?

If you created a Timeshift snapshot before starting the update, one possible recovery method is to boot from your Linux Mint installation media and restore the system from that snapshot. However, you’ll need a snapshot from before the failed update; a snapshot created afterward may not help.

I do have Timeshift, but unfortunately my oldest snapshot is only from a day ago, so I don’t think I have one from before the update went wrong.
