I replaced the screen on my iPad, and everything initially seemed to work. However, the lower-right corner near the touchscreen cables will not stay seated and keeps popping up. I tried tucking the cables in and removing some of the blue protective plastic, but I'm not sure whether that material is meant to adhere to the screen or the iPad frame. Now the touchscreen is also registering taps by itself and opening apps without being touched. What is the correct way to fold and secure the cables, and should I use a stronger adhesive?

The cable fold is probably putting pressure on the digitizer. If it is folded too sharply or routed on top of the adhesive, it can push the corner upward and cause ghost touches. I would open it back up, disconnect the battery, and carefully inspect the cables and connectors for creases or damage. Don’t try to solve the problem with a large amount of adhesive before the cables are positioned correctly.
Replacement screens from third-party sellers can have inconsistent fit and touch quality, even when the seller has good reviews. The adhesive should secure the display to the iPad frame, not force the flex cables into a different position. If the digitizer is already registering touches on its own, the panel may have been damaged during installation or may simply be defective.
The side cables need to be folded into their original channels so they lie flat without pressing against the screen or frame. Once the fold is correct, a small amount of B-7000-style adhesive can be used on the frame, followed by even clamping pressure overnight. Avoid gluing directly over the flex cables, and disconnect the battery before repositioning anything.

That makes sense. The replacement instructions I followed skipped the section around the home button and the folding edge, so I’ll probably need to reopen it and redo that fold instead of just adding more adhesive.
