Is 105% GPU power usage in GPU-Z safe while playing Alan Wake 2?

I'm playing Alan Wake 2 and GPU-Z shows my graphics card using about 105% of its rated TDP. I'm fairly new to monitoring hardware, so I'm wondering whether this is normal and safe, or if it could shorten the card's lifespan. Should I be worried or change any settings?

A 105% reading is usually fine and expected under a heavy workload like Alan Wake 2. The important thing to monitor is the GPU temperature and whether the card is throttling or crashing. If temperatures are excessive, improving case airflow or using a mild undervolt could reduce heat and power draw while keeping similar performance.

That reading is the GPU using roughly 105% of its rated TDP, not the card exceeding some absolute safety limit. It’s normal for power usage to go a little above the rated TDP during demanding games. As long as temperatures, clocks, and performance are normal, there’s generally nothing to worry about. TDP is mainly a thermal and design guideline, not a strict maximum power number.
