I'm currently gaming with an i7 8700k processor and a GTX 1080 Ti, mostly playing DayZ and CS2. I'm looking to buy a new gaming monitor and I'm wondering if I should go for a 1440p monitor or stick with 1080p. I've heard that 1080p doesn't look great on 1440p monitors. In a few years, I'm planning to upgrade to an i7-9700K and a compatible GPU. Given my current setup and future plans, what's the best way to go? Should I invest in a 1440p monitor now or just wait until I upgrade my entire PC? Also, I have an MSI Z390-A motherboard, so I can't upgrade to the latest parts right now. Thanks!

Your GTX 1080 Ti will struggle with newer games at 1440p, so you might want to think twice before making that jump. The i7-9700K isn't a massive upgrade over your current i7-8700K, so it might not be worth upgrading just for that.
I get it, you don't want to spend too much right now. What’s your budget like? If you’re considering around 300 euros for used parts in the future, maybe hold off on the monitor for now and save up for a solid upgrade later.

Yeah, I’d rather not spend too much at the moment either. I'm thinking about getting a good FHD monitor now for around 120 euros and then upgrade the whole setup in a few years.
