Is 32GB DDR5-6000 CL36 a good choice for my Ryzen 7 7800X3D build?

I'm planning a new gaming PC with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor and an RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. I found a Corsair Vengeance 32GB kit with two 16GB DDR5-6000 CL36 modules and AMD EXPO support for $375. Is this kit a good fit, and is that price reasonable? Since it's being sold used, are there any reliability concerns I should consider?

DDR5-6000 is generally a good target for Ryzen 7000 systems, although the processorโ€™s official baseline support is lower. DDR5-5200 is the official specification, while 6000 MT/s is effectively an overclock enabled through EXPO. If EXPO is unstable, you can lower the memory speed or adjust the settings manually.

Yes, itโ€™s compatible and the specifications are suitable for this build. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D requires DDR5, and a 2x16GB kit is a sensible configuration for gaming. AMD EXPO support means it can be configured for its advertised speed, assuming the motherboard and memory controller handle the profile reliably.

MellowCedar42: So it should be fine as long as the EXPO profile runs properly rather than assuming it will always reach 6000 MT/s?

The main concern here is the price and the fact that itโ€™s used. Corsair is a reputable brand, but memory kits and SSDs are parts Iโ€™d be more cautious about buying secondhand. Test the RAM with a memory diagnostic or stress test, confirm the kit has no errors, and make sure thereโ€™s a return option. Also compare the price with new 32GB DDR5-6000 kits before buying, because $375 may not be a good deal depending on current retail prices.

MellowCedar42: That makes sense. Iโ€™ll compare new kits and test the modules thoroughly if I decide to buy used.
