I'm considering upgrading my RTX 3060 for better performance while gaming at 1440p. I primarily play titles like WoW, Dota, CS, and Escape From Tarkov, and occasionally some newer games. My current setup includes a 7800x3d processor, a Gigabyte Aorus Elite motherboard with PCIe 5.0, 32GB 6000MHz RAM, and a 650W power supply.
I've noticed a lot of people listing the RTX 4070 around $485, and I'm wondering if $475 is a fair price for a used one. I'm also thinking about the RTX 5060 or 5060 Ti to potentially future-proof my rig a little. My budget is somewhat limited, ideally around $450, but I could stretch it to about $540. I'm experienced in buying used components, and since I live in Denmark, I don't have easy access to local options like Microcenter.
I'm looking for advice on what would be the best price-to-performance choice for 1440p gaming without needing to upgrade other parts of my setup. Thanks, and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I paid around 600 EUR for my new one, so it really depends on the market. Prices vary a lot depending on where you are, so just keep that in mind.
Honestly, $475 for a used RTX 4070 isn't the best deal you can find right now. For a little more, you might want to consider getting a new RTX 5070 or even a 9070. When gaming at 1440p, a 7800 XT would give you better performance than a 4070, plus they'll have more VRAM, which is valuable for future-proofing. If you're really keen on upgrading, I recommend aiming for those cards instead.
Totally agree! If your budget allows, go for the 9070 XT. It's a new card and comes with a warranty, which is definitely a win.
I've always gone with Nvidia too, but I've heard good things about AMD. Just to clarify, is it still good for streaming or recording gameplay? I’ve had solid experiences with NVENC.
It seems decent but I think it’s worth waiting for a 4070 Ti or the 50 series to drop in price. I snagged my 4070 at launch and I've been regretting the 12GB VRAM limit ever since. Might want to hold off until more options come up.
Is a 5070 compatible with my 650W PSU? I’m a bit concerned about power requirements.

Yeah, I feel you, the prices here in Denmark can be pretty ridiculous!
