Is 6 GB of VRAM Enough for Modern Games?

I recently bought a laptop with an RTX 4050 that has 6 GB of VRAM. I'm curious about how well it will perform with today's games. The laptop also features 16 GB of RAM and a 13th gen i7-13620H CPU. Can anyone share their thoughts on whether 6 GB of VRAM is sufficient for modern gaming?

You’ve got to remember that 6 GB of VRAM works fine for casual games or older titles, but for newer, more demanding AAA games at higher resolutions like 1440p, you’re likely to run into trouble. You'll need to dial back graphics settings to keep things smooth. Also, the mobile version of the RTX 4050 isn't as powerful as the desktop versions, so don’t expect miracles!

I have a 2060 with 6 GB of VRAM, and I can manage to play most current games at a decent frame rate. Occasionally, I hit around 30 fps, but I haven't found many titles that are completely unplayable yet. I'd suggest keeping an eye on your performance as you go along, though.
