I'm building a system with a Ryzen 9 9900X and an RTX 5070 Ti. I play games regularly but also run other demanding workloads, so I'm aiming for 64GB of RAM. I've found two options: £700 for a 6000MHz CL40 kit, or £600 for a 5600MHz CL46 kit. Is the faster kit worth paying the extra £100 for, or would the cheaper option perform similarly?

The 6000MHz kit is the better-performing option, but the difference probably won’t be noticeable enough to justify £100 by itself. Before choosing either, check the used market or other retailers—64GB kits can sometimes be found for under £500, which would make either deal look overpriced.
If you need 64GB, don’t drop to 32GB just to save money, especially with heavy workloads. Look for a reasonably priced 64GB kit instead. At these prices, spending another £100 on the faster kit is less important than finding a better overall deal.
