Is 73°C Too Hot for My GTX 1660 Ti Under Load?

Hey everyone! I've been running some performance tests on my GTX 1660 Ti and during a session with the Heaven benchmark, I noticed that the GPU temperature hit 73°C and the hotspot temperature reached 87°C. I primarily play Fallout 76, which tends to max out the GPU. Are these temperature readings typical for a GTX 1660 Ti? If they're on the higher side, would replacing the thermal paste help? I'm curious about reusing the original thermal pads since I can't find replacements nearby.

Yeah, that's perfectly fine! No need to stress about those numbers.

Those temperatures are pretty average for a GPU like the 1660 Ti. I'd be more concerned if it hit over 80°C. Until then, it seems like you're okay! A good rule of thumb is that throttling often doesn't start until around 83°C, and the GPU is designed to handle those temperatures without issues.
CautiousDave89: Thanks, I'll also check if the GPU exceeds 80°C during prolonged use, but for now I'll take your word for it!
GamerDude23: Good to know! I’ll monitor it closely.

You're all good! Just keep in mind that if your room temperature is pretty high, that could impact your GPU's performance too. I'm running in a warmer space and my temps are fine.
GamerDude23: Thanks! My room is definitely above 21°C, but that seems to suggest my GPU is doing just fine.
