I'm planning to build a PC tower in Ukraine with a budget of roughly $1,250–$1,400. Stable Diffusion is the main purpose, but I'd also like to play games such as Baldur's Gate 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2. I may buy the CPU and RAM used, though I'd prefer the other parts to be new.
My current parts list is an RTX 3060 12GB, either an Intel Core i5-12400F or Ryzen 5 5600, 32GB of DDR4-3200 memory, a compatible budget motherboard, a 1TB NVMe SSD with the option of adding a 2TB hard drive later, a 650W power supply, an inexpensive tower cooler, and a well-ventilated case.
Is this combination reliable for long workloads, and are there any compatibility or thermal issues I should watch for? If I need to save another $30–$50, which parts can I downgrade without noticeably hurting performance?

Be careful when comparing the 3060 with used cards. A used RTX 3080 may be faster for gaming, but many models have only 10GB of VRAM, which can be less convenient for Stable Diffusion than the 3060’s 12GB. Since used GPUs are risky in your local market, buying the 3060 new with a warranty is a reasonable tradeoff.
For trimming the budget, I’d first drop the extra hard drive, choose the least expensive compatible motherboard, and use a basic airflow-focused case. I wouldn’t cut costs on the PSU, RAM capacity, or GPU VRAM.
The parts should work together, and 650W is plenty for a 3060 and either of those CPUs. I’d prioritize a reputable power supply, two sticks of RAM, and good case airflow. The stock cooler is usually adequate if you choose a lower-power CPU, so the aftermarket cooler is one possible place to save.
The Kingston NV2 and Crucial P3 are acceptable for a budget system, but they’re not ideal for constant heavy write workloads. For storing models and games they should be fine, and you can add a better or larger SSD later if prices improve.
For Stable Diffusion, the GPU matters much more than the CPU once the software is running. You could probably use an i3 or a Ryzen 5 5500 and still get similar image-generation performance. For gaming, though, I’d keep the i5-12400F or Ryzen 5 5600 if the price difference is reasonable, since they’ll give you better minimum frame rates in newer games.
You can also choose the motherboard based mainly on the ports and expansion slots you actually need. A cheaper H610 board for Intel or A520 board for AMD may be enough. Start with the 1TB SSD and add more storage later, and consider a basic mesh case with decent airflow rather than paying extra for premium construction.

That makes sense. This will be a gaming PC too, so I’ll probably avoid going below the 12400F or Ryzen 5 5600 unless the savings are significant. I’m also leaning toward buying the SSD first and adding a hard drive later.
