My family PC is about six years old and is starting to struggle. I'd like to replace it with a system that can run modern games smoothly while also handling DaVinci Resolve and Ableton Live. Would 2,000–2,500 AUD be enough for a fairly high-end build today? I'm not very experienced with choosing or assembling PC parts, so a family friend will probably source the components and build it. I'd appreciate feedback on the parts list I've put together and any suggestions for improving it.

For this budget, a Core i5-14600K paired with 32GB of DDR4 memory and a Radeon RX 9070 XT could offer excellent overall performance while staying within roughly 2,500 AUD. That combination should be a major upgrade for gaming and general creative work.

For DaVinci Resolve specifically, an NVIDIA graphics card may be the safer choice because Resolve benefits from NVIDIA’s CUDA support and video-encoding features. Depending on local pricing, an RTX 5060 Ti could make more sense for your workload even if the Radeon card is faster in some games.
