I'm planning to upgrade my PC soon and I'm curious if pairing a 4060 graphics card with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor is a good choice. I do plan on upgrading my GPU in about a year or so, but for now, is this combination safe? Will it damage my PC in any way?

Yeah, it's totally okay to go with that setup. If you're planning to upgrade soon, the 4060 will do just fine for now.
That combination is totally fine! The Ryzen 7 7800X3D can handle much more powerful GPUs than the 4060, but using a mid-range card like that is a smart move if you're planning to upgrade down the line. Just keep in mind, running a 'weaker' GPU won't harm your system; it just means you won't get the full performance out of your CPU right now. Just watch out for overheating and make sure you have a good PSU. Those are the only things that could cause actual damage.
Any combo you pick should work just fine. Why worry about damaging your PC? As long as everything is installed correctly, you should be good to go!

That's great to hear! I have another question—do you think a 650W power supply is enough for that setup? I'm planning on moving up to an 850W when I get the new GPU, but I thought I’d save some on upgrades for now.
