Is a Little Water on My Power Strip and Ethernet Cable Dangerous?

I accidentally spilled a cup of water on my power strip's cable while it was off, and some also got on the ethernet cable connecting my PC to the router. I'm worried if this could cause any problems for my computer, considering both cables are plugged in. Should I be concerned?

Generally, a little water on the cables themselves isn't a huge issue. The most important part is to ensure any connectors that got wet are dried out before plugging them back in. There's also a slight chance that corrosion could mess with your connection or speeds, so just keep an eye on it.

The cables themselves should be okay, but if any connections got wet, that's where you could run into trouble. Just make sure everything is dry before using it again.

So, could this affect my hardware in any way?

The ethernet cable should be fine; it's low power and typically robust against this stuff. However, I would definitely unplug the power strip since water on that can be dangerous. Let it dry out completely for about 24 hours before you reconnect anything.
