I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 5600, RX 6700 XT, Gigabyte A520M-K V2, and 32GB of DDR4-3600 CL18 memory. My original plan was to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D with a B550 Gaming Plus motherboard, but used 5800X3D processors are extremely expensive where I live in Turkey—around $300–350. Including the motherboard, that upgrade would cost roughly $450.
A newer Ryzen 5 7500F system with 16GB of DDR5 would cost about $630–640. I'm also considering a new Core i5-14600KF and motherboard instead. I'm keeping the RX 6700 XT for now and mostly play FPS games, with some FiveM occasionally. My main concern is whether the power delivery and lack of VRM heatsinks on my current A520 board would make it unsuitable for a 5800X3D. Which option makes the most sense for the money?

I’d rank the choices this way: keep the Ryzen 5 5600 if performance is acceptable, choose the Ryzen 5 7500F for the best upgrade path, and consider the 5800X3D only if you can find one at a much better price with a suitable motherboard. The 14600KF is worth considering only when the bundle is substantially cheaper than the newer platform.
Since you’re keeping the RX 6700 XT, I’d be cautious about spending heavily on a CPU platform right now. In many games the GPU will still be the limiting component, and the Ryzen 5 5600 is already decent. If you don’t need higher minimum FPS immediately, saving the money and upgrading later may be the best move.
If you want a noticeable CPU upgrade and can afford the higher cost, the Ryzen 5 7500F setup is the most sensible long-term choice because the newer socket gives you room for future CPU upgrades. Just make sure 16GB of DDR5 isn’t a temporary compromise—32GB would be preferable for modern games and multitasking.
Before replacing the motherboard, check whether the A520M-K V2 can run the 5800X3D with an updated BIOS and reasonable power limits. The RX 6700 XT works fine over PCIe 3.0, so the older interface itself isn’t a problem. The concern is the board’s weak, heatsink-less VRM design; it may handle a 5600 comfortably but could run hot and limit sustained boost clocks with a 5800X3D.
I wouldn’t jump to the Core i5-14600KF unless the processor and motherboard bundle is clearly cheaper—roughly under $300. It’s a capable CPU, but that platform doesn’t offer much of an upgrade path, and buying into it now makes less sense than it would have earlier. A future graphics-card upgrade could make the extra CPU performance useful, though.

That VRM concern is the main reason I’d avoid pairing the 5800X3D with this particular board. A stronger B550 board would make the upgrade safer, but at around $450 total, the value is not especially attractive.
