Is a Scratch on My Motherboard Dangerous?

Hey everyone! I accidentally scratched my motherboard in the area near the 'AUD1' while removing my GTX 1050. The scratch took off some of the black coating, revealing a copper-colored line underneath. I'm worried about the possibility of a short circuit or other problems arising from this damage. Is this scratch likely to be serious, or is it just cosmetic? Thanks for your insights!

If you're pretty worried about it, you could use an electronics-grade silicone adhesive sealant, like Chip Quik EGS10B-20G. It might give you some peace of mind.

Could you upload a picture of the scratch? If the traces aren't cut, you should be fine, but if they are, it could affect the functionality of your motherboard. While a short circuit is unlikely, it could still happen.

Here's a pic showing it clearly; the left side looks okay!

If the traces aren't severed, your board should work without issues. Covering the area with electrical tape could help prevent any accidental shorting.

Thanks for the tip! I've heard about using polish for this kind of thing, but I'm unsure about it.
