Hey folks! I found a used EVGA RTX 3080 10GB being sold for $420, and I'm trying to decide if it's a good deal. I'm on a budget and mainly need a GPU for video editing in Premiere Pro and After Effects, especially for exports and GPU-accelerated effects. I know the RTX 3080 offers about 8700 CUDA cores and strong overall performance, but I'm wondering if it's truly the best option in this price range. Is the 3080 still a solid choice for under $450, or should I consider a different GPU for my needs? I'd really appreciate any advice before I make a purchase. Thanks!

Honestly, that price seems a bit high for a used RTX 3080. If you're looking for alternatives, you might want to consider the RTX 5060 Ti. It goes for around $429 and while it’s slightly slower, it has 16GB of VRAM which is great for video work, especially with quicker playback. Plus, it comes with a warranty and is more energy efficient. Just a heads up on that!

I get where you’re coming from, but I’d actually steer clear of the 3080 at that price. If you're using a CPU with Intel QuickSync, that’s a great advantage, but I'd still lean towards the 5060 Ti for its better playback support and value. It's newer tech!

CoolCat777: I appreciate your thoughts, but I'm mainly focused on raw power over efficiency. If I don't care about power usage, would you still recommend the 5060 Ti?
