The major reliability concerns were mostly associated with the higher-power i7 and i9 models. The i5-13600K is generally considered a safer choice, especially if the price is good. For a work-and-gaming system, it should still perform well, but make sure the motherboard BIOS is updated before using it and apply the recommended Intel power settings.
Before committing, I’d compare the complete platform against newer-generation options. Some newer CPUs may offer similar performance for about the same money, while also giving you a longer upgrade path. If you already have affordable DDR4 memory, the 13600K platform can still make sense; otherwise, a newer DDR5 system may be the better long-term purchase.
