I'm putting together an affordable gaming PC using mostly used parts, and I'm considering an RX 6700 XT. I'm not aiming to play every new release at 4K, so I'm wondering whether this GPU still offers good value in 2026. How does it hold up for 1080p and 1440p gaming, and what price would make it a sensible purchase?

I’ve used one for 1440p and it handled games well at medium settings. It remains a better option than many weaker cards, and it can offer more performance than similarly priced alternatives if you don’t need advanced ray tracing.

It makes sense for a low-cost build as long as you have realistic expectations. You’ll get solid 1080p performance and usable 1440p performance, but newer games may require upscaling or reduced settings. Features such as FSR support can also help extend its useful life.
