Is an i5-14400F and B760 DDR4 board a worthwhile budget upgrade from an i5-8600K?

I'm currently using an Intel i5-8600K, 32 GB of DDR4 memory, and an RTX 3080. In games such as CS2, Europa Universalis V, and Baldur's Gate 3, the CPU often reaches 100% usage while the GPU sits around 60%, so I'm clearly hitting a processor bottleneck.
I'm looking for an inexpensive temporary upgrade that should last for the next few years. I'm considering an i5-14400F paired with a Gigabyte B760 GAMING X D4 GEN5 motherboard for about $270 total, allowing me to reuse my existing DDR4 RAM.
Would this combination work well, and would it be a worthwhile upgrade? Are there any compatibility or alternative-platform concerns I should consider?
