I currently use an RTX 3060 Ti, and it still handles my games reasonably well at 1440p. I've been interested in DLSS 5 on the newer 50-series cards, but the latest DLSS features run terribly on my current GPU—I'm averaging only about 28 FPS even with the render resolution reduced to 75%. Would moving to an RTX 5060 Ti provide a meaningful enough improvement to justify the cost, or would I be better off saving for a more powerful card?

I wouldn’t upgrade to a 5060 Ti specifically for DLSS 5. The feature has a substantial performance cost on this generation, and the slower cards can lose more than half their frame rate. You’d need extremely high native performance just to end up around 60 FPS with it enabled, so a 5070 Ti or faster card would make more sense—but waiting for a future generation may be the better move.
The 5060 Ti is a newer card and can be faster overall, especially the 16GB model, but it doesn’t look like a good value for this particular upgrade. You may be paying close to double for a relatively modest performance increase, while still getting poor DLSS 5 performance. Save for a higher-tier GPU instead, or keep the 3060 Ti until the next generation.
Also consider your CPU. Advanced DLSS features can add CPU workload, so an older processor may prevent you from seeing the improvement you expect after upgrading the graphics card. If you want consistently strong 1440p performance, moving to something around a 5070 or better is likely a more noticeable upgrade than buying a 5060 Ti just for its AI features.
