Is an RTX 5070 a Good Choice for My First Prebuilt PC and 4K OLED Monitor?

I've never owned a PC before and I'm considering buying a prebuilt system with an RTX 5070. Is that graphics card a good choice, especially since I already have a 4K OLED monitor? What other components and specifications should I look for in the prebuilt, such as the processor, memory, power supply, storage, and motherboard?

Before choosing a system, share your budget and what youโ€™ll use it for. Gaming, video editing, AI, and other productivity tasks can change which CPU and GPU make the most sense. For gaming, compare the complete system rather than focusing only on the graphics card, since prebuilts can cut costs with weak power supplies, limited RAM, poor cooling, or low-end processors.

The 5070 can handle 4K reasonably well, but it isnโ€™t really a comfortable 4K card for demanding games. Youโ€™ll probably need DLSS or reduced settings to maintain good frame rates. At a similar price, an RX 9070 XT may offer better gaming performance, while Nvidia generally has stronger ray tracing and software support.

A second, non-OLED monitor could be useful if youโ€™ll spend long hours at the computer. OLED looks excellent, but a secondary display can be more practical for static windows and may reduce concerns about burn-in. If youโ€™re unsure about assembling a PC, you can use a parts compatibility tool and have a local shop build the system.

At minimum, check that the prebuilt has a modern multi-core CPU, 32GB of RAM if your budget allows, a fast NVMe SSD, a reputable power supply with enough wattage, adequate CPU cooling, and a motherboard with room for upgrades. Also compare the price with the cost of buying the parts separatelyโ€”some prebuilts are convenient, but others use generic components and offer poor value.
