I'm considering upgrading my graphics card before moving to a newer DDR5 platform. My current system has 16GB of DDR4-3600 memory, a B760M DDR4 motherboard, an RTX 3060, and an i5-13600K. I believe the power supply is 650W, though I need to confirm the exact model. I play mostly competitive games at 1440p and 240Hz, with some story-driven games as well. Would an RTX 5070 or 5070 Ti work well with this system, and is the Ti model worth the roughly $200 difference? I don't currently have the budget to replace the motherboard and RAM with a DDR5 setup.

Before choosing, compare current prices against Radeon alternatives such as the RX 9070 or 9070 XT. They can offer strong 1440p performance and more VRAM, which may make them better value depending on the games and features you use. Nvidia may still be preferable if you need CUDA, specific creator software, or features such as DLSS and ray tracing.
The 5070 Ti is faster, but whether it’s worth $200 depends on the actual performance gap and your target frame rates. For competitive games, your 13600K may already be capable of very high FPS, so check whether the RTX 3060 or CPU is currently limiting you. Use an in-game overlay to monitor GPU usage, CPU usage, RAM usage, and frame times before buying.
DDR4 won’t automatically make the 5070 Ti perform like a 5070. The difference will depend more on the game, resolution, memory configuration, and whether you’re GPU-limited. At 1440p, the Ti should still have an advantage when the graphics card is the bottleneck.
Your i5-13600K is still a strong gaming CPU, so you don’t need to replace the motherboard just to install a newer graphics card.
