Is Codex Really Helping with App Development?

I've been experimenting with Codex and a GitHub fork over the past week, and I was blown away by its ability to rewrite an app I liked with very few issues. It passed through the CI/CD pipelines smoothly, and out of hundreds of features and tweaks I implemented, only about 1 in 50 weren't precisely what I asked for. I even managed to build a fully functional Telegram bot in Docker! I'm thinking about starting from scratch now. Has anyone else had a positive experience with Codex? What are your thoughts on using it for new projects?

I've been trying to use Codex for tasks outside of development, just using GitHub for storage. It's fascinating how versatile it can be! I've really enjoyed it so far, even though navigating it can be tricky at times.

Yes, you still need a pro account to access Codex, but some features have recently extended to Plus users too! I've been hooked on it myself for about a week now; it certainly has its quirks, but it's an interesting tool to play around with.

Right! I just tried it out with my Plus account and it was a game changer.

I'm just getting started and could really use some guidance. How do I even kick things off with Codex? Should I just copy over my code to get started?

The first step is to have your code in a GitHub repo. Then, set that up as your environment. Just be careful with getting everything installed properly so it doesn't take ages to start.

I've had a superb experience with Codex as well! But I do have a lot of experience in development (over 8 years). For non-programmers, I can see how they might struggle with some of the bugs and issues that come up when building from the ground up using Codex.

I feel like I'm in the same boat—wondering if this is just a lucky ride for some advanced developers. Is it too good to be true?

I've used Codex to rewrite a large SAAS project, and wow, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster! It's definitely improved over time, but I've had a love-hate relationship with it. I switched from using solver.ai, and I'm likely not going back.
