Is coil whine normal for GPUs?

I recently learned about something called "coil whine" and I wanted to check my RTX 5060 for it. I've never had this issue before with any of my hardware. When the GPU is under full load, I hear a very subtle high-pitched noise that I can barely notice unless I put my ear close to it. Is this typical behavior for a GPU or should I be concerned about it? Thanks!

The noise comes from the inductors during use, and it usually decreases over time as everything settles in. It's not uncommon, especially with newer hardware.

Coil whine is just a byproduct of electronics that have coils in them. It's generally not a sign of any issues—just annoying for some people. Since you can hardly hear it, there’s nothing to fix here.

Yeah, coil whine is pretty normal! It happens with many GPUs and electronics, so you shouldn’t worry too much about it.
