I'm curious if there's any way to downgrade my iPhone 17 Pro Max to iOS 17.6.1. I've heard some solid features on that version and I'm wondering if it's even an option.

Nope, downgrading isn’t possible. Once you upgrade, you’re stuck with the newer version. This is pretty common with Apple devices. It's also important to note that you can’t install an older operating system on a device that wasn’t around when that version was released.
Unfortunately, you can’t downgrade to an earlier iOS version. Apple doesn’t allow it for newer devices, and since the iPhone 17 Pro Max is fresh on the market, you wouldn’t even be able to access an older OS that way.
Just a heads-up, it's a firm no on downgrading. I get the appeal of iOS 17.6.1, but if you’re thinking of switching from your iPhone 14 Pro Max, you might want to reconsider based on that alone. Apple really tightens the screws on software versions.
