Is €759 for a 128GB DDR5-5200 kit too good to be true?

I found a 128GB DDR5-5200 memory kit listed for about €759 and it seems unusually cheap compared with similar kits. Could this be a legitimate bargain, or is there a risk that the listing is for incompatible server memory, an incorrect product, or a scam? What should I verify before buying?

Check exactly what type of memory it is. Server DIMMs such as ECC Registered RAM may not work in a normal desktop motherboard, even if the listing simply says DDR5. Confirm the precise part number and compatibility with your CPU and motherboard.

The price might be possible, but the seller matters more than the headline listing. This seller has a very mixed review history and little useful information available, so I would avoid taking the risk. A slightly more expensive kit from a well-established seller with strong feedback is probably the better deal.

That was my concern too. I found another kit from a seller with a much stronger review history, so I’ll probably choose that one instead.

If you decide to try it, pay with a credit card and make sure the listing has a clear return and refund policy. Verify the exact capacity, number of modules, timings, ECC or registered status, and part number when it arrives. Test the memory immediately so you can return it within the allowed window if anything is wrong.

A price that is dramatically below comparable 128GB DDR5 kits is a warning sign, especially from a poorly reviewed marketplace seller. It could be a misleading listing, the wrong type of RAM, counterfeit hardware, or simply an order the seller cannot fulfill. I would pass unless the product and seller can be independently verified.
