I've got an HP Chromebook x360 14 (SONA) where I installed Ubuntu, and it's working fine aside from the right speaker not functioning. I recently discovered Gallium OS, which has some handy patches for Chromebooks, but I found out it was discontinued. I did some tweaking and swapped the boot and grub file with the one from Debian 12, so now it boots up, but the experience isn't great. I'm wondering if anyone has managed to create a fork of Gallium OS 4 for Kaby Lake or perhaps found an unstable release? Alternatively, are there any similar operating systems to Gallium that I could try?

GalliumOS was officially abandoned back in 2022. The project's wiki suggests that users switch to another Linux distribution due to security concerns. It’s surprising they haven’t taken down their website or posted any updates about it.
Thanks for the info!

Yeah, is there any solid alternative you’d recommend?
