It seems like Google's Primary DNS might be down currently. I'm uncertain whether this is a localized issue or affecting users globally, but I've heard reports of outages across various ISPs. Has anyone else encountered this problem before?

I think the issue is primarily in America. Everything seems to be fine here in Canada.
I'm in Chicago and yes, it's down here. Our Frontier connection isn't working, but it seems like things are operational on Cogent.
I just checked, and everything is working fine for me from the UK using TLS.
I remember a similar issue back in 2013 during a major outage. It's always safer to configure at least two DNS providers in case one goes down. I've had a couple of customers only using Google DNS and it wasn't fun sorting that out.
Yes, I've definitely run into this before. It's a good idea to have a secondary DNS provider set up as a backup just in case. It can really save you during issues like this.
