Is It a Good Idea to Buy Used PC Parts for an AM4 Build?

I'm planning to build a PC for my daughter and myself so we can play games and work on projects together. We're excited about the build since she loves to put things together. I've decided to go with an AM4 setup since it's budget-friendly and we're not hardcore gamers. I'm considering buying some parts secondhand from eBay. Do you think it's wise to get used components like the CPU, RAM, and GPU, while purchasing the other parts new?

Buying used CPU, RAM, and GPU is generally fine, but keep an eye on the GPU's condition. You don’t want one that’s been heavily used for mining—it could significantly affect performance.

Used parts are totally doable as long as they're in good working order. I suggest skipping the used PSU since it’s better to get that new for safety. Also, a fresh case can really enhance the look of your build!

I built my first PC with all used parts and it still runs great! Used components are a fantastic way to save some cash, just make sure to do your research to avoid scams.

Definitely grab a new PSU, it’s a safer bet! By the way, what's your budget for the build?
