Is it normal for a new laptop to take 30 minutes on the first boot?

I just got a brand new Acer Aspire Lite 15, and it's been stuck on the logo screen with a little rotating icon for 30 minutes during the first boot. I'm not exactly tech-savvy, and I have a work project due in just a few days. Is this something to worry about?

It’s usually pretty normal for a new laptop to take a bit of time on the first boot as it sets everything up. However, 30 minutes is on the longer side. You might want to try powering it off and restarting. If it still hangs, checking the warranty or getting in touch with customer support could be a good idea.

Yeah, a first boot can vary depending on the system and what it needs to install. If it stays on that screen for too long, just give it a hard reset. If it boots up after that, great! If not, you may want to look into any help options from Acer.
