I've got an i7-12700KF paired with a 5070 Ti, and I've noticed that my CPU temperatures hit a constant 85-90°C while playing Call of Duty. I just replaced the thermal paste, but I'm not sure if this is within normal limits or if I should consider investing in a better cooling solution.

You didn't mention which cooler you're using. To avoid thermal throttling, you'll need a top-tier air cooler like the BeQuiet DRP Elite or Noctua D15. A decent 360 AIO cooler could also do the trick. Plus, having a good PC case can help lower temps by about 5°C.
If you've already replaced the thermal paste, it might be time to look for a new cooler. There are lots of great options for both air and liquid cooling. Also, consider undervolting; I’ve seen a simple 0.1 volt drop reduce temps by around 10°C without affecting gameplay much.
That temp is definitely on the high side. My least impressive cooling setup runs around 75°C while gaming, and most of my builds stay under 60°C. What cooler are you currently using?

That's a solid tip! Sometimes even small adjustments can make a big difference. Definitely worth trying!
