Is it normal for my PCIe 5.0 cable to not fully connect to the PSU?

I have a PCIe 5.0 power cable that doesn't seem to fit all the way into my PSU. There's about a millimeter gap where it's not fully in, and I'm not sure if that's expected or if I should try to push it in more. I'm worried about damaging either the cable or the power supply by forcing it.

Are you sure that cable isn't meant for the CPU? I had an issue with some custom cables — they looked like they fit my GPU ports but they shouldn't be used together when powering different components.

I'm pretty sure it's not the CPU cable since it's designed for an AMD GPU. One end has two 2x8 connectors while the other is the PCIe 5.0 that connects to the PSU.

Sometimes, it’s normal to have a little bit of the cable sticking out. Just make sure it’s connected securely enough to reach your GPU without being too tight.

If you're worried, try posting some pictures online so we can help you out better. It might just be an installation quirk.
