I'm wondering if it's safe to game with the glass side panel of my PC off. I'm not really concerned about temperatures since I keep my room clean from dust and have an air purifier running a lot. Just curious if there are any potential issues I should know about!

Gaming with the side panel off is generally fine and shouldn't harm your PC. However, it might affect airflow in a way that could let more dust in over time, even with your air purifier running.

My case is pretty closed off, no mesh front to add extra fans. My temps usually sit around the 60s while gaming, though.

You'll have to deal with more dust, and without that side panel, your components are less protected. If you don’t mind that, then it's all good! Some people even use open air setups without issues.

In the short term, it's okay, but long-term you might need to clean it more often because dust will accumulate quicker. Also, without the side panel, your case can lose its airflow efficiency, which could lead to higher temperatures, especially if the room gets warm. But it all depends on your PC specs! Why do you want to take it off?

I was just curious! I usually keep it closed, but I wanted to know what others thought.

It's definitely possible to run your PC this way. I've done it while testing systems, but I wouldn't recommend it as a long-term solution. The case helps direct airflow and keeps dust away from sensitive components.

Got it, thanks! Seems like I'll just keep my side panel on for good after all.
