I'm contemplating a switch from an AM4 motherboard to an AM5 one because I already have compatible RAM and CPU on hand. I just need a new motherboard. However, I'm currently working on my master's thesis, which is stored on my PC. While I've backed it up on my laptop and USB sticks, there are just too many files and references to manage. It's easiest for me to work on my PC. So, I'm wondering, how common are issues when upgrading to AM5? I had some serious problems while trying to install Windows on my PC a couple of months ago, which has made me a bit hesitant to make this change.

Generally, problems aren't common with upgrades on modern platforms. AM5 did have some issues at launch, but those have pretty much been resolved over time. You should be fine as long as you’re using compatible components.

So I can just plug in my GPU, CPU, RAM, and SSDs, and it should boot up normally?
