Is it safe to buy a “.sex” domain for my website?

I'm a total newbie when it comes to web design and coding—honestly, I can only manage to put up a header! I've got this idea for a passion project and think it would be hilarious to have a website that ends with ".sex". However, I'm worried if using a domain like that could come with any security risks or consequences, like attracting unwanted attention or shady characters. So, is it a bad idea to go for a ".sex" domain, or should I just go for it?

It shouldn't cause major issues, but remember that .sex domains tend to attract attention to adult content. If your site isn't really for that, it might come off as a bit juvenile. Just think it through!

You should be alright! Just make sure you pick a reputable registrar. The .sex domains can be pricey, though. I’d recommend looking around for the best deal.

Yeah, I've heard some places can charge quite a bit for those—definitely do your homework!

And trust me, steer clear of places that sound sketchy. You want a reliable registrar!

Originally, .sex was intended for adult content, but since it's non-restrictive, you can use it for anything. Just be aware some places might block access to sites with that TLD.

You should be fine if you just follow safe practices—just like safe.sex! Seriously though, as long as you set up your site securely, having a .sex domain shouldn't be a problem.
