The circuit breaker on the rear of my APC Back-UPS BX750MI-FR appears to be damaged. The button is pushed in at an odd angle and does not seem to operate normally. Could continuing to use the UPS create a fire, short-circuit, or other safety hazard? Will it still provide proper overload protection for connected equipment, and can the breaker be replaced separately, or is replacing the entire UPS safer?

If the breaker is physically damaged or does not reset and operate normally, stop using the UPS and unplug it from the wall. The breaker is an important safety device, so you cannot assume the unit will still provide reliable overload protection. Do not open or bypass it unless you are qualified to work on mains-powered equipment; have APC or an electrical repair technician inspect it, or replace the UPS if repair is not practical. If the breaker had merely tripped, you could disconnect all loads and reset it, then reconnect devices one at a time. If it trips again, that indicates an overload or an internal fault.
