Hey everyone, I'm currently saving up for a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) for my computer setup. In the meantime, I'm wondering if it's okay for me to use my PC plugged into just a surge protector. Should I avoid doing this, or is it fine temporarily?

I’ve been using just a surge protector for my gear for years without issues. It’s especially helpful if you’re dealing with occasional power fluctuations, but just be aware of the limitations compared to a UPS.
Honestly, the power supply in your PC already has some surge protection built in. If you're just dealing with minor surges, a surge protector should work just fine temporarily. Just keep an eye out for any bigger power issues.
You can definitely run your PC without a UPS. Unless you live in an area with frequent power issues, a surge protector is generally sufficient. Just make sure it’s a good one!
Using just a surge protector is totally fine for now! Most people I know do the same, and it should keep your PC safe from minor surges.
A surge protector is better than nothing for protection. It's good for everyday use, but a UPS is the ideal choice if you want to ensure safe shutdowns during power outages.

Thanks for the advice! I'll consider getting a UPS soon.
