Is it Time to Upgrade from a 7800XT to a 9070XT Before Prices Rise?

I'm currently using a 7800XT GPU and I'm considering upgrading to a 9070XT. I typically game on a single 1440p monitor, but I also run multiple applications like Discord, Chrome, and Spotify on my other screens. I bought the 7800XT for $799 AUD, and it's now retailing for around $1000 AUD, so I think I could sell it without losing much. The new 9070XT is also priced at $1000 AUD. With rumors of price hikes coming soon, I'm wondering if I should make the switch now. I really value both ray tracing and rasterization power, and I prefer to play at lower graphics settings to achieve 60 fps instead of using FSR or frame generation. Other options on the market are a 7900XTX for $1250 AUD, a 7900XT for $1049 AUD, and a 5070TI for $1300 AUD.

I made the upgrade recently, but just a heads up, I run a bazzite OS, which does limit my ray tracing performance a bit. The performance difference wasn't as dramatic as I anticipated, but it does feel nice in some Unreal Engine 5 games. If you've got the cash, go for it. If money's tight, the 7800XT still performs well for many games.

Money isn't a huge issue for me. Most of my games work fine as they are, but the rumors about price hikes are making me anxious.
