Is It Time to Upgrade My i3 CPU?

I recently upgraded to a 9060xt graphics card with 16GB of RAM, but I'm still using an i3 12100f processor and a H610 motherboard. My monitor only supports 1080p, and I'm wondering if I'm holding back the performance of my graphics card. Should I upgrade to an Intel 12400f or a higher model, stick with my i3, or switch to an AM4 setup?

You should definitely consider upgrading to at least a 12400f or even a 12600kf if it fits your budget. Four cores just won’t be enough for modern games at 1080p.

I’d advise against switching to AM4. Use your 9060XT to its full potential first. If you're still not satisfied, upgrading your CPU is the way to go. Aim for a 12600kf at minimum, or wait for a good deal on a 14600k. Your motherboard should handle it just fine, even if it’s not top-tier.
