I'm 36 years old and from Latin America, feeling a bit desperate for a career change. I'm learning to code and currently studying through Free Code Academy and TOP, but I feel like I'm not making real progress. Can I realistically build a programming career at this age? Any advice or suggestions would be really helpful!

You absolutely can start coding at any age! I've seen people successfully transition to tech later in life. If you're feeling stuck, it might be worth looking into a more structured program. Have you checked out various online learning platforms? Sometimes, a better curriculum can really make a difference in your progress.

Remember that it's all about commitment! If you set a goal, like completing a project, it can really motivate you and guide your learning. You've got the theory down, now it's crucial to apply those skills in real-world projects to kickstart your career.

If you're located in LATAM, you might want to explore the University of the People. They offer free online degrees in Computer Science and are WASC certified. Plus, many students from LATAM manage to get scholarships, which could be a great opportunity for you!

It sounds like you're feeling stuck, which is totally normal when learning something new. Have you thought about what specific challenges you're facing? Sometimes it's just about adapting your learning style or resource. For starters, I recommend downloading VS Code and exploring AI tools that can aid your learning. Check out YouTube for quick project tutorials and don’t hesitate to dive into affordable courses on platforms like Udemy!

Jumping into a coding boot camp could be a great option! I made that change at 36 and landed a job in tech. Don't let age discourage you; the bigger hurdle might be the current job market. A well-structured course could really help you gain the skills you need.
