I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU and I'm currently deciding between the i7 7700 and the i7 7700K. Is it worth spending an extra $100 for the 7700K, or should I stick with the i7 7700?

They're basically the same CPU, but the K version is just overclocked. For most people, the standard i7 7700 will do just fine, so I’d skip the extra cash unless you're really into overclocking.
What do you currently have? If you're on an LGA 1151 socket, it might not make sense to swap to another one in the same family unless you’re going for something that will give you a significant bump. You might not see the performance gain you expect.
If you can, I’d suggest saving a bit more and looking at the Intel 12400F along with a budget B760 DDR4 motherboard. That combo could be a better deal in the long run.
Honestly, the i7 7700K isn't really worth an extra $100. It's more like a $40 upgrade when you consider what you can get for your money elsewhere, like some AM4 CPUs that are cheaper and perform better.
