I'm considering an upgrade for my gaming PC and currently have an i5-12400F paired with a 9070 XT. I'm looking to ensure I'm more future-proof for CPU-intensive games, especially since I play at 4K. I've been looking at the i5-14600KF and the i7-14700KF but I'm torn between the two. I've noticed that performance is similar in some games, while others show a slight increase from 83 to 98 in low 1% and average frames. The i7 is about 111.32 EUR more expensive in my area. What do you think?

While the i7-14700KF is great, you might not see a significant performance difference in gaming compared to the i5-14600KF. The latter handles gaming workloads exceptionally well without the extra heat and cooling demands of the i7.

Totally makes sense! I was thinking I could use that cash to upgrade my cooling system instead.

The i5-14600KF is a solid choice for gaming and should pair well with your 9070 XT. Higher core counts like those in the i7 are more beneficial for things like video editing rather than gaming itself. If you don't have a need for that, the i5 is more than sufficient!

Agreed! Plus, if you can save the extra cash, you could reinvest it in a better cooling solution or even some peripherals.
