I was initially looking to build a completely new system, but I decided against it due to the rising costs of RAM and overall expenses. Now, I'm considering upgrading to either an RX 9060 XT (16GB) or an RTX 5060 Ti (16GB), along with an MSI G274QPX 1440p 240Hz monitor. I mainly play games like Valorant and Wuthering Waves, plus some AAA titles now and then. Does this upgrade path make sense for my current setup? That upgrade sounds like a good move! With your Ryzen 7 3800X, I doubt you'll see any bottleneck at 1440p. Personally, I lean towards the RX 9060 XT over the 5060 Ti. The price difference is a big factor too; I’ve seen the 9060 XT go for around $360, which is quite competitive compared to the $400-450 range of the 5060 Ti.
It really depends on the pricing. The 5060 Ti generally offers a 4-6% edge in rasterization and up to 20% in ray tracing. Also, keep in mind that improvements are being made for Valorant with Reflex 2, which could enhance your competitive play. If the prices are similar, the 5060 Ti is a safe bet, but the 9060 XT could be a better deal if it's cheaper.
