I'm considering buying a PC that comes without Windows and I'd like to run Linux since it's free. However, I'm not very familiar with Linux and I'm concerned about how gaming will be affected. I've heard that Riot Games titles won't run on Linux, but I'm mainly interested in playing games like Counter-Strike 2, Gears of War, and Red Dead Redemption 2. Can I play these games on Linux? Also, which distribution would you recommend, as there are so many of them?

Counter-Strike 2 is definitely playable on Linux. As for Gears of War and Red Dead Redemption 2, it seems they can work but you'll probably need to do a little digging and may need to adjust settings. Look for a distro that supports Steam well. Additionally, Proton might be needed for launching some games. I recommend starting with something easy like Mint or Ubuntu to get used to the interface.
