Is My Build Ready for a GPU Upgrade?

Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade my current GPU from an XFX RX 6600 to something newer, specifically the RX 9060XT. I typically game at 1080p, and I'm concerned about whether my current setup, which includes a Ryzen 5600X and a 650W PSU, will negatively impact the performance of the new GPU. Do you think I can go ahead with this upgrade, or should I consider other options? I'm really just a casual gamer, so any guidance would be appreciated! Thanks!

Just a heads up, your CPU may bottleneck a bit at 1080p compared to higher resolutions like 1440p or 4K, where the GPU takes the lead. It really depends on the specific game you're playing, as some are more CPU-intensive than others. If you find performance lacking after the upgrade, considering a CPU upgrade later on could be a smart move. But overall, you’ll definitely notice a big improvement with the 9060XT over the RX 6600.

You're all set! The Ryzen 5600X won't bottleneck the RX 9060XT. Are you planning to get the 16GB or the 8GB version?

I'm definitely going for the 16GB version. I found it priced at $390 on Best Buy, which seems fair, but some friends suggested waiting for Black Friday to snag a better deal.

You should be good to go! As long as your 650W PSU is a quality unit, it can handle the switch from an RX 6600 to a 9060XT, which has a TDP difference of about 30-40W. Your Ryzen 5600X isn't the latest, but it's more than capable of handling 1080p gaming for quite a while. The 9060XT, especially the 16GB version, would be a fantastic upgrade, especially for graphically intensive single-player games.
